 "wine" vs. conscience

No, we have before proved that "wine" (Grk.oinon, Heb.Yayin) is a generic word used for the JUICE of the vine, whether new or corrupt.

John Stuart Mill, in "System of Logic", said: "A -generic- term is always liable to become limited to a single species if people have occasion to think and speak of that species oftener than of anything else contained in the genus. The tide of custom first drifts the word on the shore of a particular meaning, then retires and leaves it there."

Be not as a "castaway" on the shore of "this present evil world" by trying to limit the generic word "wine" to only mean that species that is corrupted by the leaven of fermentation. NEW WINE is indeed found "in the cluster." Let no man spoil you through philosophy...

Paul did -not- distinguish as to whether or not you were "around" one of the weak brethren, since even if they hear of your actions, their conscience may be wounded, or worse, that they might fall into the wickedness of alcoholism and covetous idolatry by your example.

"But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ." (1Cor.8:12)

With every meal? A single (8oz) cup of ALCOHOLIC wine would more than put my blood alcohol percentage -above- the legal limit. There is -no- room for any spirits of alcohol in the body of a saint who is -FILLED- with the Holy Ghost, SEALED unto the day of redemption. ("Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy...")
