>CQ> Mt Sinai is located in Saudi Arabia near the Gulf of Aqaba.
"The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel." (Judges 5:5)
The MELTED area (lava plain) is east south east of Jabal Al Lawz.
>CQ> Scholars are now suggesting that this is a strong possibility given the new evidence.
The Bible speaks of both Masters/Teachers and Scholars. Scholars, of course, are NOT teachers, but LEARNERS in school. Some scholars are ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Of course, the children of Israel didn't cross the red sea from Egypt to the EGYPTIAN peninsula today called Sinai (a non-volcanic area), but from east of the THEBES area they LEFT Egypt and crossed over to the MIDIAN area of Arabia. The land of Goshen was not an annually flooding delta farm area, but a hill-country cattle grazing area. (They were SHEPHERDS when they moved into Egypt. :)
Ancient writings speak of the red sea as being once a RIVER before the RIFT began widening into a sea, after the tectonic collapse of the Sodom area, the pleasant vale of Siddim, in the days of Lot. (Plainly the red sea was still quite narrow in the days of Moses. :)
The Jordan, Salt Sea, and Red Sea originally WERE one continuous river "that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia." When the rift opened, PART of the highland plateau of Ethiopia/Cush ended up on the east (Arabian) side of the rift, presently in the country of Yemen, which borders on the gulf of Eden. Evolutionary Geologists plainly have their head in the sand when it comes to dating things.
"Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed." (Lk.17:28-30)
Remember that Jesus is the Lord and receive the love of the truth. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with us all. Amen. --Richard
