>CQ> What do you think about Romans 11?
See Zechariah 4:11 and Rev.11:4. (What do you think about Romans 4?)
>CQ> Those who Paul said had "fallen from grace" had once known grace, but fell away.
Where did he ever say they had "once known grace"? (A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. Be not deceived.)
>CQ> In this light, Hebrews 6 takes on a more literal meaning.
Hebrews is literally for Hebrews. People in the great tribulation that look at their hand in the light of Rev.14:9-11, won't be helped by dialing 9-11, but MARK 9:43,44 taken literally might be just what the Great Physician ordered: Remember that Jesus is the Lord.
Revelation 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
Revelation 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Revelation 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
Mark 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
Mark 9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
>CQ> Alexander and Hymenaeus (sp?) had a shipwrecked faith.
Their "conscience" was certainly shipwrecked. They should have had their conscience purged by the blood of Christ, but refused the word of faith and blasphemed, and thereby were not good soldiers of Jesus Christ, but the Lord knows them that are his. Remember that Jesus is the Lord and receive the love of the truth.
>CQ> They had accepted the Lord. What do you think of this?
I think that both Alexander and Hymenæus are still found written in the book of life, and although they may not receive a full reward (1Cor.3:14,15), they probably did "learn" their lesson. May all God's saints learn to grow in grace for Jesus' sake. Amen. --Richard
1st Corinthians 3:14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
1st Corinthians 3:15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
