In Exodus 15:14, we find the coastal region called "Palestina". This was AFTER Israel came out of Egypt, but BEFORE entering the land.

Herodotus in the 5th century BC used the name PALESTINE for the Philistines who lived along the south eastern Mediterranean coast. The historian Josephus (1st century AD) used the greek word PALAISTINE for the area of the Philistine coast (Jos.Antiq. i.6.2).

The Roman province of Judæa was renamed as Palæstina after the Jewish revolt of 135 AD. Some people today use the term PALESTINE to designate that area west of the Jordan river which was given to Israel by the Lord. The former name of that area was CANAAN, from Sidon (Lebanon) in the north to Gaza in the south.

Ishmael, the father of the Arabs, dwelt in the land of Canaan (and Philistia) with Abram/Abraham, until he was about thirteen years old (approx.1957 BC), when he was forced to leave with his mother. The twelve tribes of Ishmael settled mainly in Arabia. Joseph was sold to Ishmaelites in Canaan, who sold him into slavery in Egypt.

The Philistines were of African descent (Genesis 10:14) from the sixth son of Mizraim (Hebrew name for Egypt). They mainly occupied the Pentapolis cities in the coastal plain, Gaza strip to Joppa (Tel-Aviv). They were continually terrorizing the peoples dwelling around them and controlled larger areas of Canaan at various times.

Samson met the Philistine woman called Delilah in Gaza. He died there later, when he tilted the pillars of the great house and collapsed the roof, killing more than 3,000 Palestinians in Gaza.

The Palestinian giant called Goliath was slain by young David, who later became king over all Israel. When Israel turns again to the Lord, Israel's enemies will be destroyed by the great smiting stone.

In the final analysis, God HIMSELF, will re-partition his land exactly as he said in Ezekiel chapters 45 through 48, for all twelve tribes of Israel. If you'll read there, you'll find exact measurements given, with allowance made for another Temple and an area of holy ground around Jerusalem, for the reign of the King of the Jews, the Lord Jesus Christ HIMSELF on this earth!

The United States is ABOUT ready to make some of the most dangerous decisions on foreign policy that it has ever, or ever will make! ("The nations that forget God shall be turned into hell.")
