From a message of 31May1994 from a Curious Questioner--
>CQ> Subj: RAPTURE
>CQ> The only quickening I see in the middle of the great Tribulation is this one, Revelation 11:8-12...
>CQ> These of course is the TWO witness Enoch and Elijah, whom have not saw death as of yet. Enoch, God took him and Elijah went up in the whirlwind.
No, Enoch is not one of the two, but rather, the scriptures of truth identify the two witnesses as "Moses and Elias". (Luke 9:30p)
"And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem." (Luke 9:30,31)
JERUSALEM is "...where also our Lord was crucified." (Rev.11:8p) The decease of the two witnesses is also accomplished at Jerusalem.
"These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth." (Rev.11:3)
"What are these two olive trees...?" - "These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth." (Zech.4:11p - 4:14p)
The two anointed ones standing by the Lord in Matthew 17 were plainly identified and called by name: "Moses and Elias".
"These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will." (Rev.11:6)
Water power! Power to stop the rain and power to turn water to blood. Moses was so named, as she that named him said, "Because I drew him out of the water." Moses exercised power to turn WATER to blood in Exodus 7:20-25. Elias had power such that "it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months." (James 5:17p)
There is no doubt that Moses and Elias(Elijah) ARE the two witnesses. Remember that Jesus is the Lord and receive the love of the truth. Grace be to them that love the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. --Richard
