"without sin"

From a message by a Curious Questioner--

>CQ> The whole point of Jesus coming to live with us, was not simply a visit to let us know who he is..... but he was all god and all human. He had the sin nature but did not sin. ^?

The Lord Jesus was "without sin" according to the scriptures.

>CQ> If Jesus didn't have a sin nature, how is it that Satan was able to tempt him?

Being tempted and not yielding, is not sin. Be not deceived.

>CQ> First of all, God CANNOT be tempted. Jam 1:13

The Lord was tempted in all points like as we are, yet without sin. And the commandment says that thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

The Lord said, "Why tempt ye me, ye hypocrites?"

"Now therefore Why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?" (Acts 15:10)

>CQ> Second of all, you cannot even be tempted unless the sin nature is there. The sin nature meaning to be the tendency toward sin

The Lord Jesus had NO "tendency toward sin" at all. Be not deceived.

>CQ> Thirdly, why did Jesus fast and pray for 40 days and nites just prior to Satan tempting him.

Prior to? No. "And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan;" (Mark 1:13) and he was tempted "afterward" (Mt.4:2).

>CQ> Fourthly, if Jesus didn't have the sin nature, why was he baptized by water???

He wasn't "baptized by water", he was baptized by John, in order to be made manifest unto ISRAEL as that prophet like unto Moses who was so named, as it was said, "Because I drew him out of the water." John said, "I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel", and John drew him "out of the water"! and Jesus was made manifest unto Israel, fulfilling the law of Moses unto them.

John preached the baptism of repentance UNTO ISRAEL. The apostle of the GENTILES, Paul, was NOT sent to baptize, but to preach the gospel of the GRACE of God, which is NOT by the law of works and water baptism; for by one SPIRIT are ye all baptized in Christ Jesus. The GENTILES that tried to follow the example of Moses and the children of Israel in the Red sea, were baptized in water and were DAMNED. The Lord Jesus baptizes with the Holy Ghost. Be not deceived.

You really ought to remember that Jesus is the Lord and receive the gospel of the grace of God and be saved for Jesus' sake. Christ died for our sins and he was buried and rose again the third day for our justification THROUGH FAITH IN HIS BLOOD. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Grace be with you. Amen. --Richard
