Mortal Soul

From a message by a Curious Questioner--
>CQ> Subj: Hell Is Real And Eternal

>>CQ2> But when God casts sinners aside, he doesn't allow them to decompose and their components be recycled. He keeps them around for eternity, with no hope of redemption, always punishing them in one of the worst ways possible. What sense does this make?

>>CQ2> Maybe those angels who rebelled against God had a good reason to do so.

>CQ> I believe God made man to be eternal, however; when mans earthly nature sinned he condemed his earthly body to death while his heavenly part (the soul) could not die.

The "soul" is not "heavenly", and can very surely DIE:

"As I live, saith the Lord GOD, ye shall not have occasion any more to use this proverb in Israel. Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die." (Ezek.18:3,4 and see Ezek.18:20

The so-called "immortal soul" is a false doctrine by some "well-meaning" people; but if your soul WAS immortal, then there would have been no need for THE LORD to pour out his soul on the cross, to REDEEM yours FROM DEATH, "with his own blood." (Acts 20:28p)

"That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen." (1Tim.6:14-16)

Like it or not, you're still mortal and subject to corruption. But in the gospel chapter (15) of 1st Corinthians "we shall be changed:"

"For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory." (1Cor.15:53,54)

In the mean time, you can have victory over sin in accordance with the scriptures in Romans 6:6-11, for the Lord Jesus Christ "gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." (Gal.1:4,5)

>CQ> Also, do you really believe God casts persons into hell with absolutely no sorrow?

The LORD is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. "For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye." (Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.) Remember that Jesus is the Lord and let your heart be FILLED with his grace and precious love. My love be with you all. Amen. --Richard
