>CQ> Subj: EASTER/PASSOVER
>CQ> This combination serves as proof texts Norm that the second Seder of Passover is under discussion with its two Sabbath days one being Friday. The evening between them the spices were purchased.
Two consecutive sabbaths would not have a non-sabbath "evening" between them.
>CQ> Another Scripture that proves all of this out is Luke 24:21. In this verse we learn that it was still only the third day since Jesus' death.
No, not since his death, but since the things were "done."
>CQ> It is therefore clearly still within the seventy-two-hour time limit assigned three days, as these seventy-two hours will not expire until Sunday afternoon between 3:00 and 5:00 P.M.
He was already risen LONG before those disciples saw him.
>CQ> This Scripture also proves that our Lord was raised within seventy-two hours and not after seventy-two hours, as some teach.
Less than seventy-two hours would not fulfil the AFTER three days prophecy. Being sacrificed on any other day than the 14th day of the first month, would be contrary to the prophecy that the whole congregation would kill him on the day the passover lamb was killed.
>CQ> All we have to do here is count backwards three days from Sunday afternoon, and we get...
He was no longer in the heart of the earth Sunday afternoon. The LORD Jesus Christ of the scriptures of truth was raised from the dead in the end of the sabbath, according to the scriptures. He was three days and three nights in the heart of the earth, not two days and two nights as your private interpretation misrepresents it.
Remember that Jesus is the Lord and receive the love of the truth. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding." (Isa.3:5) Grace be with thee. Amen. --Richard

>CQ> Subj: PASSOVER DISCUSSION
>>Previous Person> There is no verse that says explicitly that Jesus indeed did eat the Passover meal.
When the Lord Jesus sat down with the apostles after Peter and John had "made ready the passover", he spoke of the meal they were partaking of, "And said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:" (Luke 22:15)
>>PP> Never did Christ call the cup of his blood of the new testament the cup of blessing.
>CQ> "The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 1 Cor. 10:16.
>CQ> We do not know if Christ did or did not not call this cup the cup of blessing. We do know that he said a blessing over it and this does fit passover requirements.
No, the scriptures of truth do not say that he said a blessing over the cup. He "blessed" and "brake" the bread, but only gave "thanks" for the cup that already had a blessing in it.
"Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all" (Isa.65:8)
Amen. The blessing of freshly squeezed grape juice from the cluster surely cheers the heart and we bless the Lord's cup of blessing.
>>PP> You have yet to address the fact that Jesus SAT while the Passover meal was to be eaten while standing.
>CQ> Perhaps, but perhaps not.
Not. The Lord himself is the greatest authority on such things, and it is obvious that he sat with the apostles while eating. He rose and girded himself with a towel when he washed their feet, but then sat down again until it was time to "go hence." (Jn.14p) The first passover in Exodus was to be eaten in "haste" and the people were to be ready to depart in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, but there is no legal requirement concerning sitting or standing.
>CQ> I do not hold to the thought that our Lord must have died at the exact time that the passover Lamb was slaughtered, as our Lord himself did not hold to such a concept.
The Lord is the Lamb of God, the very passover Lamb himself! He died at the exact time that he as the passover Lamb was ordained to die. Whether or not the Jews were slaying other lambs at the same time does not matter in the least. It is not the traditions of men that we are to follow, but rather, we follow the word of the Lord. Remember that Jesus is the Lord and receive the love of the truth. Grace be to your heart in love for Jesus' sake. Amen. --Richard
