"A GREAT NOISE" (Big Bang :)

From a message by a Curious Questioner--
>CQ> Subject: EVOLUTION and evidence

>CQ> I currently buy the Big Bang, unless something better comes along.

After the LORD "comes along", (as a thief in the night,) there will certainly be a Big Bang: "in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

>CQ> What I think the Bible says is nothing more than God did create the universe, and that man is a special creation. It is silent about how old, or the exact methods involved.

Silent? The exact method is the LORD God simply SPEAKING things into existence with WORDS: "By the word of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth." (Psm.33:6) He SPOKE and said, "Let there be light." And there was light! And of course that light is the glory of God, not the pale-by-comparison sunshine which was made later.

>CQ> Genesis 1 is an attack on false gods, and not a scientific explanation of the universe.

Genesis 1 says NOTHING about any so-called "false gods". The words of the Bible were given by inspiration of him who is omniSCIENT, and therefore the words of God are omniSCIENTific. (So simple. :)

>CQ> I realize this puts me at odds with many other Christians, but my views are honestly derived from Scripture.

There is nothing honest about clinging to pagan superstitions AFTER you have heard the pure word of God. Remember that Jesus is the Lord and be wise to turn away from vain traditions that make the word of God of none effect. The word of God effectually worketh in them that BELIEVE.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved by the grace of God. Grace be to them that receive the love of the truth. Amen. --Richard
