>Curious Questioner> Can you tell me why the KJV does not have the Gospel of St. Peter?
It was written after the New Testament canon was sealed at the end of the 1st century A.D., and wasn't written by the apostle Peter.
>CQ> If the KJV is inerrant, why is it missing part of the Hagiographa?
The Authorized Version includes everything needed for the man of God to be throughly furnished in the sight of God. Be not deceived.
>CQ> The ORIGINAL KJV 1611 had 73 books in it. Why aren't they there now?
The 1611 EDITION of the King James Version had 39 old testament books and 27 new testament books. (39 plus 27 equals 66). There was also additional material besides the word of God included in that EDITION as recommended reading, and clearly, "The Bookes called Apocrypha" are NOT part of the old or new testament. The 14 "Bookes" of the Apocrypha were separate. (66 plus 14 equals 80, not 73).
>CQ> You must have been looking at a "revised" 1611 version for the one that I saw in England had 73 books. In the same order as the Catholic bible.
I AM -now- looking at the page of the original edition of the 1611 King James Version that says, "The names and order of all the Bookes of the Olde and New Teftament, with the Number of their Chapters"; and The Old Testament books are from Genesis to Malachi (39); the "Bookes called Apocrypha" are from 1Esdras to 2Maccabees (14); and the New Testament books are from Matthew to Revelation (27); And that is NOT the order of the corrupt catholic bibles.
The Authorized Version was given by the authority of the Author and Finisher of our faith, the Lord Jesus Christ. Be not deceived.
"The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." (--Psalm 119:130) "Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it." (Psalm 119:144)
Remember that Jesus is the Lord and receive the pure word of God. (Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.) Grace be to them that receive the love of the truth. Amen. --Richard
Author's Version (AV1611)
>CQ> Subject: lies exposed
>Curious Questioner> The KJV that is available now and has been available for many years is a REVISION of the original KJV which was done in 1769.
No. The 1850 "edition" of the 1611 A.V. is what most people have. The six previous editions (1611, 1613, 1664, 1701, 1769 and 1850) had updates to the spelling of words, correction of type-setting errors, and minor punctuation changes, etc.; and the current edition is the pure word of God, as it is written, Conformable to the edition of 1611, commonly known as the Authorized or King James Version. (Amen.)
>CQ> Be not deceived.
The Lord is true. (Let no man deceive himself, for Jesus' sake. Amen.)
>CQ> Place your faith in Christ and not in parchment.
By the grace of God, I believe that Jesus is the Lord and the Author's Version (AV1611) is the word of God without a doubt. Grace be to them that love the truth for Jesus' sake. Amen. --Richard
